Meet Our Director - Charles Morrow

We are pleased to name Charles Morrow as the first Musical Director of the Community Singers of Lake Norman. Charles Morrow is excited about hitting the ground running with these singers!  Charles is all too familiar with the Lake Norman area.  He was raised here and continues to provide musical leadership to this area.

Charles is a graduate of the Lenoir Rhyne University.  There, he obtained his degrees in Sacred Choral Music and in Vocal Performance.  While there, he became quite involved in the music program, and was named the assistant to the conductor of the LR ACappella Choir.  During their 2003 tour of Europe, Charles received the Helen Stahler Award for Musical Excellence.  After his graduation, Charles began working with various music directors and vocal coaches.  Some of these names include; Dr. Paul D. Weber, Dr. Anton Armstrong, Dr. Andre Thomas and Dr. Craig Dennison.

Charles has taught in several area schools and has been on staff at various churches as their music director.

Board of Directors and Officers
September 2022

The 2022 fall season has officially started.  Voices are joyfully raised in song. Music is alive and thriving once again with both familiar and new faces.  Can you believe we have a roster of sixty voices raising the rafters?

It is that time of year when we have to comply with our Articles of Declaration and hold our Annual Meeting, October 24.  An explanation, agenda and details will follow.

This year we are challenged to fill three Director vacancies on a five-member board. HELP! Please take the time to consider running for a position.  We, CSLKN, need your talents.  The current BOD has worked diligently to streamline each Director’s responsibilities. With the addition of the Connect Team, our job is strictly business.

Over the past two years the BOD has become more efficient using technology and workshops to connect and get the job done. This has resulted in fewer BOD meetings. With the addition of a new volunteer base, The HighNotes, non-singers, can also serve on the BOD.  Do you know someone who may be interested?  If so, please have them contact me, Marie Heiss, at mheiss030244@gmail.com or text me at 980-230-9238 or with their permission, give me their contact information. Currently, Amy Jacobus is a Director not participating in the fall choral season. She is a prime example of a volunteer HighNote serving on your Board.
